The former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis was honored for his contribution to the development of St Kitts and Nevis. The members of the community gathered for the name change ceremony of the Saddlers Secondary School in honor of Dr Denzil Douglas.
The Saddlers Primary School has been receiving support from the leader for several decades and has flourished under his eye. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew applauded Dr Douglas not only as a predecessor of his own, but as a true giant of St Kitts and Nevis.
The Prime Minister was present at the name change ceremony at the Formerly Called Saddlers Secondary School along with several members of the community.
The Minister of Education, Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley was also present at the school for the name change. Representing his Ministry at the event, Dr Hanley gave Dr Denzil Douglas the honor of unveiling the new name of the school.
Meanwhile, Dr Terrance Drew highlighted that it was the vision of Dr Douglas that brought along the Saddlers Secondary School in the first place. He was happy to see that the leader was getting recognition for decades of service.
The Prime Minister took to his social media to share some images from the event. The parents, students and community members attended the event in large numbers to pay their tribute to the leader. He has been working for the welfare of the people of St Kitts and Nevis, especially the people of Constituency 6 for more than 3 decades.
Dr Drew also recalled that Dr Douglas is the longest serving Prime Minister of the country who held office for approximately 2 decades from 1995 to 2015. This service and dedication should be honored by the people of the country.
