The Police are investigating a vehicular accident that claimed the life of Stedroy Sturge and injured Rasheed Moore of of Barnes Ghaut, Nevis. The incident occurred on December 2nd, 2023, between 6:45 PM and 7:45 PM along the bypass road in Nevis.

The number of deaths in St. Kitts and Nevis is increasing at an alarming rate. Previously, Prime Minister Terrance Drew addressed the nation on the same issue and asked the people of St Kitts and Nevis to be vigilant and always follow the law.

Initial investigations that were done on the case indicate that Stedroy Sturge was travelling along the bypass road when he lost control of his vehicle, which collided with a utility pole and overturned off-road.

 Stedroy Sturge was reported to have been travelling with one passenger. Stedroy Sturge was thrown from the vehicle, and his passenger, Rasheed Moore of Barnes Ghaut, Nevis, sustained injuries. 

He was transported to the Alexandra Hospital via ambulance, where he is receiving intense care and treatment. Unfortunately, Stedroy Sturge was pronounced deceased at the scene due to severe injuries, which he obtained after being thrown out of the vehicle.

The Crime Scene Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) processed the scene. The RSCNPF expresses its sincere condolences to those affected by this incident. The public will be kept appropriately informed of developments as the investigation progresses.

Additional information: The St Kitts and Nevis community has taken to Facebook and shared a video of Stedroy Sturge dancing in a costume and expressed their condolences to the family. They noted, “In loving memory of Steadroy “Steady” Sturge, a vibrant soul whose dance embodied the spirit of cultural masquerade.”

Stedroy Sturge to lost control of the vehicle.

St Kitts and Nevis people are advised to be vigilant whenever they are travelling from one place to another. And always follow traffic rules to avoid any inconvenient accidents.
