The Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, awarded the Cedric Armbrister scholarship to Erim Herbert of Cotton Ground. The scholarship was provided by Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC) and was awarded by the Premier to Herbert on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
With this scholarship, the recipient, Erim Harbert, will study engineering at the university of West Indies.
Following the vent, Premier Brantley took to his social media to share a few glimpses. He congratulated Erim Herbert, the first recipient of the Cedric Armbrister Scholarship, awarded by the Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC). In his Facebook post, he wrote:
“Something good is happening in Nevis.
A truly significant ceremony this morning as the first-ever Cedric Armbrister Scholarship was awarded by the Nevis Electricity Company (NEVLEC) to Mr Erim Herbert of Cotton Ground, Nevis. Mr Herbert will be studying engineering at the University of the West Indies.”
He reiterated the Nevis Administrative association‘s efforts and hard work to uplift the people of Nevis, especially its youth and students. In his Facebook post, he further wrote:
“I feel proud today that the vision of this Government of putting people first is now being manifest in all of our various agencies and statutory entities.”
He applauded the recipient of the scholarship, Erim Herbert, for his potential as he emerged as the perfect role model for other youth of his age and added that with his incredible potential, he would get a number of opportunities in his life to shine.
According to Premier Brantley, NEVLEC provided him with the opportunity and did so in the name of one of the pioneers in electricity generation in Nevis, Cedric Armbrister.
In his Facebook post, he articulated it as:
“Young Erim is a wonderful example of young Nevisians with huge potential who just need an opportunity. Today NEVLEC provided him that opportunity and did so in the name of one of the pioneers in electricity generation in Nevis, Mr Cedric Armbrister of blessed memory. I thank his wife and children who attended this ceremony.”
He wished the youth of Nevis, Erim Herbert, the best for his future and studies. The premier added that he would look forward to Herbert’s return so that he could help build out a sustainable electricity grid on Nevis.
