The Premier and Minister of Finance in Nevis, Mark Brantley, has congratulated the Nevis Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP Nevis), on securing the rights to host the STEP Caribbean Conference 2025 in May.
The STEP Conference will be held at the Marriott Resort in St Kitts from May 14th to May 16th, 2025, featuring 250 practitioners of trust and estates law, from the Caribbean, the UK, the USA, Latin America, and Europe. Delegates will discuss the latest legislative developments and technologies impacting their practices.
The Chair of STEP Nevis, Helene Anne Lewis, expressed her honor in hosting the conference in Nevis and said that it will significantly bring more attraction to the island nation.
Thriving Nevis Financial Sector
Premier Mark Brantley shared that hosting of this conference in Nevis displays the exuberance of the Nevis Financial Services Sector that is continuously thriving, experiencing noticeable growth.
He also expressed his commitment in growing the sector by 50% over the next three years and said that with the support of the legislative environment, service providers will find Nevis to be a hospitable and profitable nation.
Moreover, Nevis provides a transparent and secure environment for financial transactions to the legitimate clients. The jurisdiction of Nevis offers a blend of advantages, including competitive pricing, highly skilled workforce, and modern regulatory framework.
Premier Brantley welcomes financial service providers
Premier Mark Brantley said that Nevis is ‘open for business’. He welcomed interested financial service providers to establish businesses in Nevis.
He assured that their signature legislation, the Nevis International Exempt Trust Ordinance (NIETO) will continue to provide the best asset protection statutory provision in the world.
Furthermore, NIETO has benefited Nevis in several ways over the past two decades and will continue to have a prideful place in Nevis’ suite of financial services legislation.
The STEP Caribbean Conference
The STEP Caribbean Conference was first launched in 2010 under the guidance of Shawna Lake. It was sponsored by the then Chair of the STEP BVI Branch, Helene Anne Lewis. The last conference was held in 2012.
