The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew was given a warm welcome into the capital of Ethiopia for the 2nd edition of the CARICOM and African Union Summit. This is the first time that the summit is being hosted in person with the members of the Caribbean and the African Union in attendance.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis reached the Capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa on Saturday right after he finished the Intra African Trade Fair. The Prime Minister was welcomed by the stakeholders of Ethiopia, including the Minister Habtamu Tegegne.
The welcome party also included the name of the Minister of Mines and Petroleum, and Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye, State Minister of Foreign Affairs. Prime Minster Dr Terrance Drew was accompanied by several other leaders from the CARICOM who were accorded similar welcomes.
Taking to his social media, Dr Terrance Drew shared that he had travelled from the IATF 2025 in Algeria and straight to Ethiopia. The opening ceremony of the CARICOM-African Union coincided with the CARICOM Africa Day.
This day was a crucial starting point for the people of the two regions to start this event. The Prime Minister shared that it is important for the two regions to collaborate on issues of importance.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis is also co chairing the 2nd edition of the CARICOM-AU summit with João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço. He is the President of the Republic of Angola and Chairperson of the African Union.
The interaction with the leadership of the two regions is crucial for the overall all around development of the region. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis has been excited for the collaboration with the leadership of the African Union and further developmental avenues.
