The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew met wth the mational diaspora in Toronto. The meeting was hosted after the conclusion of the United Nations General Assembly. 4
The Prime Minister travelled from New York to Toronto with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Denzil Douglas. The two leaders, along with Diaspora Ambassador, had the opportunity to interact with the people who attended the diaspora meeting.
The town hall meeting, which is a regular part of the leaders’ overseas visits, was a resounding success in Toronto as well. The leaders spoke to the members of the diaspora and informed them about the developments which have taken place in St kitts and Nevis.
Dr Terrance Drew and his team continue to believe that the people living in diaspora are a very important part of the country’s development. The members of the diaspora and their contributions are immeasurable.
The Prime Minister and Diaspora ambassador Dr. Christine Walwyn spoke to the members of the diaspora on several issues of national importance. Some of the topics which came under discussion during this meeting included public utilities like water and electricity.
They also discussed the projects which are being completed under the country’s Sustainable Island State Agenda. The aim of the initiative is to make sure that the people living in the diaspora away from home can continue to remain up to date with all the developments back home.
The leaders also conducted a Q/A session with the attendants of the event where the leaders answered some questions on flight connectivity. They also discussed ways allow the members of the diaspora to bring to support the development initiatives in St Kitts and Nevis.
The leadership has also thanked the members of the diaspora for all the work that they have done so far for the benefit of the country and its people. The diaspora has always honored their roots and supported the nation tirelessly.
