Dr Terrance Drew hosted the nurses of the federation to a gala during the weekend. The nursing fraternity of the country was invited to be honored and appreciated for their dedicated service to the nation.
Prime Minister Drew meets the nurses working at the JNF General Hospital and other health centres in the country. They discuss the challenges and frustrations that the nurses face in doing their duty. The regular meetings allow PM Drew to keep a close eye on all the developments and problems that the healthcare sector faces.
Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew highlighted that he was delighted to have the opportunity to welcome the nurses of the federation to the gala. The medical professionals came from all over the island for the Nurses Gala
The nurses are very important for the smooth running of the healthcare services in St Kitts and Nevis. The Prime Minister promised that he and his team at the Ministry of Health will continue to work to develop the nursing profession.
In line with this commitment the Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew has been introducing new improvements in several areas in nursing along with improving the overall healthcare of the country.
St Kitts and Nevis has recently reintroduced the associate degree in Nursing at the CFBC to allow more youngsters to think about a career in Nursing and healthcare. Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew also maintains that Nurses are the backbone of the country’s Health systems.
The Nurses Gala, which was hosted over the weekend, was a platform for the authorities to applaud the professionals.
PM Drew shared several images from the event on his social media account. He addressed the nurses and urged them to use their training for the people of the island nation. Nurses who have worked tirelessly in public service were honored with awards and plaques showing the country’s appreciation to their work.
Several Ministers of the Drew led administration also took to their social media to highlight the nurses for their contribution to the nation.
