Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has invited all the citizens to join the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party for a march. The march is to be held on Labour Day on May 5. It is to advocate for the rights and fair treatment of the workers and an overall enhanced quality of life for all citizens of the federation.
In his latest Facebook post, Prime Minister Drew said that they should celebrate what they have achieved and press forward together for even larger achievements. He also encouraged the citizens to bring high energy, pride and their firm spirit to the march.
Additionally, PM Dr Terrance Drew said in a video which he posted recently that over the past two and a half years they have seen great progress. He says these changes have improved the lives of the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
He stated that the march is important as the labour movement has helped the people of St Kitts and Nevis in every sphere and every area. Furthermore, their neighbours have also benefited from the labour movement.
PM Terrance Drew urged the citizens of the Federation to walk together for their future. He further encouraged them to show what “One Labour, One Movement, One Future!” truly means.
Labour Day
Labour Day is an annual celebration of the labour movement and its achievements. The labour movement is also known as the eight-hour movement. This movement calls to action that each individual set aside eight hours for work, eight for recreation and eight for rest.
