The Joseph N. France General Hospital (JNF) received a donation of an electroencephalogram (EEG) Machine from The Pan American Health Organization.
The donation took place on 25 January 2023. The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, who is also the Health Minister of the Twins Islands, took to social media and expressed great joy to the Pan American Health Organization for their profound gesture towards improving health care in the Twins Islands.
Minister of Health Dr Terrance Drew accentuated that the machine is well-needed in St Kitts and Nevis as it would ensure better diagnosis and treatment.
PM Drew highlighted that the donation from the Pan American Health Organization will contribute to secure healthcare and improve its delivery.
Previously, the Minister of Health, Dr Terrance Drew, once spoke about his experience as a doctor and how important it was for both patients and medical staff to be in a safe environment.
“It was, of course, impossible for them to get some of the necessary investigations that would result in their better management and treatment,” he said, emphasising the machine’s significance in enhancing healthcare quality“, added Minister of Health Dr Terrance Drew.
Additionally, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis extended gratitude to Anneke Wilson for the role she played in acquiring the equipment, adding,
PM Drew also thanked PAHO and Anneke Wilson, PAHO Representative, for her hard work in ensuring that the Joseph N France General Hospital received the needed equipment.

- Glenroy Blanchette, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Minister of Health and Finance, Dr Terrance Drew, emphasised that social protection is one of the major steps into building a sustainable island state.
PM Drew accentuated that the SKN government was moving towards providing universal healthcare and accessibility to all the people within Twins Island.
Furthermore, PM emphasised that the introduction of this advanced machinery aligns with the SKN government’s vision and goal of delivering high-quality healthcare to its citizens, residents and visitors.
