The Department of Education in Nevis is celebrating the 2023 edition of Child’s Month in June 2023. The event will be hosted under the theme of Empowering our children through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Education. The education department of Nevis puts a lot of emphasis on the development of the children on the island. Accordingly, the Department of Education team has laid out the events scheduled for June 2023.

The celebration for Child Month, June 2023, will begin on Thursday, June 1, with a combined church service. The church service will be held at Gingerland Seventh Day Adventist Church, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Friday, June 2, will be the Transition Day for children entering KG in Public Primary schools.

Friday, June 9, will feature events like the Child Month parade, Fun Day and T-Shirt Day. The parade will start from Charlestown to ETW Park in Nevis. The parade will begin at 9:00 AM.

Wednesday, June 14, the Department of Education in Nevis will start STEAMagine Cantata. The event will be hosted at the NePAC at 4:30 PM. The department has clarified that the tickets for the event are on sale in all the preschools on the island.

Friday, June 16, the department will host a bake sale at the Solomon Archade Apron at 10:00 AM.

Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22, will feature a Read With Me- Family Funtime event at NePAC. The event will begin at 5:00 PM on both days.

Friday, June 23, will be reserved for the ECD Staff Retreat. The nurseries and playschools on the island will be closed for the Day.

Monday, June 26, the members of the Department of Education will observe Compassionate Day. They will visit all the retired Early Child Development workers on the island. The visits will begin at 10:00 AM.

June 30 will serve as the Parade day for the country’s people. The Saturdays of the Child Month, June 3, June 10, June 17 and June 24 will be celebrated on Youth on the Go Show on Von Radio from 9:30 AM.
