St Kitts and Nevis: The people of Basseterre were treated to a spectacular display of talent and festive cheer as the annual ‘In the Spirit of Christmas’ programme came to a close yesterday, December 05, 2024 following a week of joyful celebrations that kicked off on Monday evening.
The event was organised by the Department of Creative Economy which aimed to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by performing in various ways to showcase the talent in St Kitts and Nevis, bringing individuals together to celebrate the festive spirit.
Significantly, Basseterre came alive with this annual event as the people in huge numbers came out to celebrate the commencement of the holiday season.
The Minister of Creative Economy et al., Samal Duggins shared the glimpses from the event on his official Facebook account and expressed with delight that it was an evening to remember. He noted that the holiday magic came alive at “In the Spirit of Christmas.”
He said that the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and the heartwarming spirit of togetherness that this season is all about. He also shed light on the breathtaking performances to the dazzling lights and festive cheer that also added to the unforgettable celebration.
Minister Duggins extended gratitude to everyone who joined the event and made the evening so special. “Let’s carry this spirit of love and kindness throughout the season.”
Notably, Governor-General Dame Marcella Liburd was also seen interacting and enjoying at the event.
The Department of Creative Economy also shared highlights of the performances that displayed the excitement of the holiday season and the joy that the season is bringing.
Throughout the four-day event, the attendees were entertained by the mesmerising performances, artistic expressions and celebrated the magic of togetherness.
In addition to this, Christmas spirits are at peak in St Kitts and Nevis as several fairs and parties are in line for the celebration of the festival. The Government has also announced the annual Children’s Christmas Party this month which will include fun activities, gifts and culinary delights for the young ones.
