Leader of St Kitts and Nevis Labour party, Dr Denzil L. Douglas and his new NextGen team recently organised a press conference where they discussed the future goals of the party.
In this press conference, party leader and former Prime Minister of SKN made applauding announcements for all sectors with a particular focus on civil servants.
Dr Douglas stated that under the NextGen Labour administration, civil servants would be paid twice a month. The leader indicated that by doing this, the wages of civil servants of the twin-island nation would meet with the international standards.
“The New Next-Gen SKN government will ensure that civil servants will be paid twice every month to ease the pain of long wait between salaries which are presently monthly paid.” added Dr Douglas.
Furthermore, the leader stated that Labour administration would also increase the salaries of civil servants to assist in adjustment to the high cost of living in St Kitts and Nevis.
Former Prime Minister added that professional development training camps would be conducted for senior Civil Servant paid for by various ministries to ensure that they keep abreast of the latest practices and pioneering techniques.
In total, four new announcements were made by the new Next-Gen SKN team including the introduction of ‘Flexi Hours’.
Under the Flexi Hours initiative, the labour administration will let government employees shift their everyday schedules s based on the demands of their family lives.
This twin-island nation is awaiting for its next general elections in May 2020, and St Kitts and Nevis Labour party seems to be fully prepared to beat the current ‘Team Unity’ government.
