The CUNA Conference Center, located in Fortlands Basseterre, hosted the energy month 2022 Primary schools quiz finals on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
The Tyrrel Williams Primary school emerged as the Energy Month 2022 primary school quiz competition winner. Tyrrel Williams students Jo’syah Drew, Daniqua Gilbert and Ruel Sargeant, represented the winning team.
Saddlers Primary school clinched second place in the competition: The team consisted of students Desrian Williams, Hayley Chandler and Zahlika Nolan.
Immaculate Conception Catholic School won third place in the Energy Month Quiz Competition. The team members were: Urijah Thompson, Ajay Watt and Dwioka Toussaint.
These winning teams were the winners of their respective zones in the preliminary round of the competition. The competition was hosted by the St Kitts and Nevis Energy Unit. The other sponsors and organizers included the St Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC) The CARICOM, CARICOM Energy among others.
At the end of the 2022 Energy Month Primary School Quiz, Tyrrel Williams Primary School had a total of 230 points in their bag, propelling them toward an easy victory.
Saddlers Primary School, who had a total of 150 points to their credit, sat in second place.
Finally, Immaculate Conception Catholic School claimed their spot in third place with a total of 150 points in the competition.
At the end of the multi-round competition, the student and teachers of the various participating schools received monetary prizes and goodies. The organizers also congratulated the schools.
Meanwhile, The representative of constituency #6, Dr Denzil Douglas, also the minister of foreign affairs in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, expressed his congratulations to the winning schools.
He especially mentioned the primary school of his constituency, Saddlers primary and congratulated them for winning the second prize in the Primary School Quiz competition. The competition was hosted as a part of the energy month celebrations.
