The Charlestown Secondary School places itself first after defending itself against seven community schools at the Ginseng Up Classic Championship in the 4X400 Meters Series held on Sunday.
The final medal count for the 4X400 Meters of the Ginseng Up Championship was held at 7:08 PM.
While announcing the results of the series, the St Kitts Department of Sports added, “The 2024 Ginseng Up Classic concludes with a thrilling finish! Charlestown Secondary School, the defending champions, secured victory after a late start in the medal count. Basseterre High School started strong but couldn’t hold off the Lion’s might of the Charlestown Secondary School. What an incredible showcase of talent and sportsmanship! Until next year!”
As per the reports, the team secured a total of 29 medals, including 9 golds, 11 silvers and 9 bronzes. Following Charlestown, Basseterre High School and Verchilds High School stood in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

- Charlestown Secondary School- 9 Golds, 11 Silvers and 9 Bronzes
- Basseterre High School- 7 Golds, 8 Silvers and 12 Bronzes
- Verchilds High School- 7 Golds, 6 silvers and 4 Bronzes
- Gingerland Secondary School- 6 Golds, 9 Silvers and 5 Bronzes
- Washington Archibald High School- 4 Golds, 3 Silvers and 7 Brozes
- Saddlers Secondary School- 4 Golds, 0 Silvers and 0 Bronzes
- Cayon High School- 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze.
Further, the Championship was hosted in an effective partnership with several organisations. These include Nelson Spring, Nevis Islander, CARIB Brewery, Department of Sports Nevis, Department of Sports St Kitts, Nevis Island Administration and the Government of St Kitts and Nevis.
Notably, the Charlestown Secondary School also stood first at the 300-meter and 4X100-meter relay finals. The team secured 7 Golds, 10 Silvers and 9 Bronzes and 7 Golds, 10 Silvers and 7 Bronze respectively.
Meanwhile, in the 300-meter and 400-meter hurdles, the Basseterre High School secures first position. They secured 6 Golds, 4 Silvers and 8 Bronzes, placing Charlestown Secondary School 5 Golds, 7 Silvers and 6 Bronzes.
