St Kitts and Nevis: The Cayon High School Falcons secured the title of Under 14 Netball Champions in the Interschool Netball Championship 2024 hosted by Powerade and Dasani by six points.
The Department of Sports St Kitts shared glimpses of the champion teams and noted their amazing team work and individual brilliance set the tone for an unforgettable season.
Notably, the final match of the netball championship was between Cayon High School and the Saddlers Secondary School where the Cayon falcons fought hard and secured the victory with a total of 13 points and defeated the Saddlers who scored 7 points.
The Cayon High School Gazette also posted about their sweet victory on their official social media and stated that in the finals, the unstoppable falcons fought hard with determination and teamwork and the girls emerged victorious, securing their place at the top.
They gave a shoutout to the Head of their Physical Education Department and the Head Coach Denzil Stapleton along with his committed coaching team and also extended thanks to the supportive parents.
Significantly, the Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins took his Facebook to congratulate the Cayon Falcons on the behalf of the Ministry of Sports. He also shared highlights and said that in a tough final against the Wolfpack from Saddlers Secondary, the Falcons displayed incredible determination and teamwork to claim victory.
Notably, the award for the most goals was presented to Vhyseante Williams for her remarkable 74 goals and the award for being the Most Valuable Player was given to Naima Mitcham for her outstanding defending skills and for being a team player.
Minister Duggins also gave special recognition to Naima Mitcham as she was named the Player of the Match. He expressed that, “You have all made your school, your community, and our nation immensely proud. May this victory serve as a reminder of what can be achieved through perseverance and solidarity.”
