The minister of St Kitts and Nevis advised the St Kitts and Nevis passport holders to ensure their passports are valid before the travel date. Travelers are also encouraged to research the immigration policy of the receiving country to ensure that the amount of time remaining in their passport is sufficient to facilitate border entry. Some countries require a minimum of 3 to 6 months before entry borders.

Holders of St Kitts are advised to inquire about the visa requirements for entering a receiving country before purchasing travel tickets to visit the country. a purchased travel ticket does not guarantee the issuance of a visa by an embassy

Countries that do not have an embassy or a diplomatic mission in St. Kitts and Nevis have appointed reputable local personnel known as honorary consuls to work on their behalf. These honorary consuls assist the nationals of the representing Saint Kitts and Nevis with various consular matters.

People desirous of having a document apostilled should visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with original documents along with $55.00 EC dollars in stamps to facilitate the processing of each document; only records that are issued in St Kitts and Nevis can be apostilled at the Ministry. These documents include birth, marriage, and death certificates, police records, court records, notarial, and translations. Regarding the renewal interview process, the US Department of State has temporarily waived the in-person interview required for kittens and nurses applying for migration for a visa in the same classification.
