Trinidad and Tobago: Kamla Persad Bissessar, an opposition leader of Trinidad and Tobago outlined the UNC’s initiatives for the nation’s workers. At the campaign meeting, the United National Congress promised to revive the employment opportunities for the workers, aiming to improve their living conditions.
During the meeting, PSA President Felisha Thomas added that UNC will provide higher wages to the workers of Trinidad and Tobago. With this, they aimed to empower the labour workforce who are seeking new and enhanced employment opportunities for them.
In addition to that, the UNC has also promised to provide better health insurance that is significant to enhance their living standards and improve their livelihoods. There will be more opportunities for the workers in different sectors such as construction and other infrastructural projects.
President Thomas noted that they will work for a brighter future for the workers, aiming to empower the sector. With these initiatives, the UNC is seeking to empower the labour workforce and enhance their livelihoods. The priority access will also be provided to HDC housing in Trinidad and Tobago and an improved health plan will also be structured to empower the healthcare deliveries of the workers.
Earlier, Kamla Persad promised that her government plans a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence if the UNC returns to power. She also hinted that the UNC will soon launch their manifesto which will include initiatives and plans for the creation of new jobs and generation of foreign exchange.
The Opposition leader added that they will also work for the diversification and rebuilding of the energy sector. She said that AI is very important, and they are pushing some of the manifesto ideas which will feature the proper usage of the AI with the help of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence.
She also outlined her plans of to make Spanish a compulsory second language in all schools from pre-school level, enhancing local businesses’ ability and workforce.
