Officers with Haiti’s judicial police are now looking for an accomplice in the kidnapping of Evelyne Sincère, the 22-year-old high schooler who was found dead at a garbage dump.
Sincère’s boyfriend, Joseph ‘Kiki’ Obed, is accused of getting her drunk and setting her up to be kidnapped.
Obed has reportedly fled to the Dominican Republic.
Sincère’s elder sister said that she was told Sincère that was with her partner and he got her drunk.
It is noteworthy that 22-year-old Evelyne Sincère was found dead at a garbage dump site in Delmas 24 on Sunday morning, three days after she was kidnapped.
The kidnappers had demanded $100,000 in ransom for her release.
Her elder sister had raised an amount of $15,000, but the bandits rejected the lower amount.
Jean Flaury Raymond, a judge of peace, said that Sincère was beaten, and by the look of her body it appeared as if she was sexually assaulted when her body was found.
At least seven people were kidnapped in Port-au-Prince in the past three weeks. Sincère was the only woman. Four of these seven persons were released.
Two others, Pastor Éniel Afred and his son, are being held captive for an $800,000 ransom after they were kidnapped in Carrefour on Sunday.
