CXC collaborates with Midwestern State University Texas for transforming regional education

The Caribbean Examination Council collaborates with international higher education institutions to support the candidates who are sitting in the examination. The collaboration would also increase the capacity to transform education. The MOU between the two organizations will be in place for five years.

For establishing cooperation in the education sector, CXC signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Midwestern State University (MSU Texas). This MoU was signed on September 2021. During the virtual ceremony, this was signed.

The focus of this partnership would be on the development of assessment and curriculum. The development is supposed to be done in training and research and also in every area of technical collaboration.

The CXC and MSU Texas had collaborated in various fields of work:

  1.  They would collaborate with each other while doing research on the development of the way of teaching, learning and marking in the Caribbean.
  2. They would collaborate during the research regarding the transformation of education digitally.
  3. Facilitate the sharing of examination results for the purpose of matriculation, as authorized by candidates.

During the ceremony, Dr Eduardo Ali, Pro-Registrar and Deputy CEO of CXC® said that expanding the reach of the Caribbean Examinations Council by agreements with international institutions not only serves to develop and strengthen the organization, but it would enable them to fulfil their mission to develop the human capital of the Caribbean people through partnerships for global competitiveness. 

Being from one of the known institutions of the Caribbean Community and the growth and the progress of CXC would be as equal to the benefits of the region.

Dr James Johnston, Interim President of Midwestern State University, while sharing his views on the agreement, “We are very sensitive to the cost of attendance and the time to degree. I see the value in counting all the work students may have or bring with them to Midwestern State University. With this agreement, we also recognize and appreciate the Caribbean Examinations Council for its exceptional quality and credentials. I say all of this to characterize the importance of this articulation agreement to improve transferability of coursework to Midwestern State University and thereby better serve all of our students.”
