WinAir launched thrice weekly flights service between St Kitts and Nevis and Barbados. The inaugural flight for the service landed in St Kitts on Thursday.
The flight was welcomed by a delegation led by Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson. The Minister has been working with international partnerst to bring better travel opportunities to the island. The connection between St Kitts and Barbados is part of the Ministry’s efforts to improve air connectivity within the region.
The WinAir Flight will operate three times a week and travel between Barbados’ Grantley Adams International Airport and St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw Airport. The flight will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
This schedule for the WinAir Flights is in alignment with the Dutch Airlines KLM, which is operating an Amsterdam-Barbados-Guyana route. This airlines is WINAIR’s interline partner which runs their flight on the same day as the new service.
The agreement between the two organizations will help in the future growth of the country’s aviation sector. The leadership has shared that the welcome ceremony was also attended by several members of the WinAir Family. The attendants included Manuel Esu, Commercial Director at WINAIR, Marketing Manager at WINAIR, Pascalle Wong-A Foe, Brian Alleyne, First Officer at WINAIR and several crew members.
The event was critical for the two connecting nations’ tourism sectors so the key tourism partners from St Kitts also came together to welcome the flight. The efforts of the stakeholders highlights the importance of strengthening regional ties.
According to WINAIR, the new St. Kitts-Barbados route will enhance its services from Barbados. The airline already has flights from Barbados to St. Maarten and Dominica.
Barbados is a massive destination for international tourists to come and experience the island life to the fullest during vacations. The addition of a Barbados to St Kitts route will help build connectivity to the federation which is another rising star of the federation.
