The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew is travelling to Grenada for the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment forum. He is accompanied by a high-level delegation consisting of several government officials and Minister Samal Duggins.
The visit of the Prime Minister and his team serves as a opportunity for St Kitts and Nevis to further and strengthen trade relationship and cooperation with Africa. The Federation has already been looking into ways to increase their business opportunities.
In Grenada, Prime Minister and his team will not only have the opportunity to interact with their regional Counterparts, they will also be able to take their trade capabilities to aother level. The aim of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment forum is to facilitate close collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean.
The fourth edition of the AfriCaribbean Trade and Nevis is being hosted under the theme, “Resilience and Transformation: Enhancing Africa-Caribbean Economic Cooperation in an Era of Global Uncertainty,”.
The event is organized annually by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank). Attendants include high level officials from governments and financial institutions. The Prime Minister Drew has been looking into ways to expand the trade presence of the country on the world platform.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew’s presence at forum reasserts the country’s dedication to improve their financial and business centric presence not only in the Caribbean, but also in the rest of the world, starting with Africa.
Attendance in forums such as this reasserts the voice of the smallest island nation in the western in the international arena. These appearances also help St Kitts and Nevis establish stronger and more sustainable international relationships.
In addition to the Minister of Agriculture and Creative Economy, Carlton Pogson, was part of the delegation as a representative of the Ministry of Finance. Naeemah Hazelle, accompanied the Prime Minister in her capacity as the Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Finally, Sherema Matthew, Director of the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS) was also included in the delegation traveling to Grenada for the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment forum
