11 women in St. Kitts and Nevis took the time to work on their self-development under the Chronic Disease Self Management Program (CDSMP) workshop. The workshop was held on Monday 11, May 2026 at Her Majesty’s Prison.
The Ministry of Health organised the workshop in partnership with community organisers and the Seventh day Adventist Church. The initiative was organised under the EmpowHERment Project. Through the workshop the organisers wanted to focus on individuals wellness, self development, and healing.
St. Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Health believes that through health, hope and rehabilitation efforts, the workshop will help in the self growth of people of the island in the long term. Moreover, the initiative also reflects the efficient collaboration efforts between the healthcare professionals, community organisations, and social support systems.
Officials believe working together with all the national stakeholders, the Ministry has helped in restoring the dignity, confidence and opportunity for the people of the island. The workshop used practical tools including education, mentorship, and compassionate support to handle their chronic illness, mental wellness, stress and everyday life challenges.
According to officials, the 11 women who attended the workshop showcase the success of the efforts of the organisation. The organisers stated that the workshop is not just about the rehabilitation of addressing the past but it was about creating new pathways towards a healthier, empowered future and hopeful chance for them.
Additionally, St. Kitts and Nevis Ministry of Health also expressed gratitude to all partners, facilitators, supporters, and the Seventh day Adventist Church for making the workshop possible in the island.
