Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson met with the members of the taxi fraternity as part of a series of stakeholder consultations. The meeting was aimed towards gauging the preparedness of the tourism stakeholders for the 2026–27 tourism season. 

The Minister of Tourism was accompanied by high level officials from the Ministry of Tourism. The Minister has shared that it is important for the island to constantly strive to improve their offerings within the tourism sector. The island has been attracting a large number of travellers to their shores due to its understated beauty and peaceful natural offerings. 

Currently, the nation is in the tourism off season, prompting the tourism leadership of the country to come together to review the 2025/2026 cruise season. At the same time, the leaders will also start their preparations for the next tourism season.

The consultations are a very important part of maintaining transparency and high standards for the tourism sector of the country. The officials have shared that they have conducted discussions focused on industry performance. 

The officials have shared that they also discussed the proposed Rainforest Tour Guides Policy. The stakeholders who were part of the programme also discussed product enhancement opportunities for the upcoming season. 

The priority of the organisation is to ensure that they can improve the visitor experience for the people who want to come and visit the island for their next vacations.
