A Memorandum of Understanding is signed between The Ministry of Youth, Ageing and Disabilities of St Kitts and Nevis with iSTEAM The Academy of Arts and Sciences on Wednesday 15, April 2026. A brief ceremony featuring the signing of the MoU took place at the Saddlers Home for the Elderly.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the aim of strengthening the strategic partnership between the government and iSTEAM. The two organizations will work to advance the community development initiatives in the island. Under the MoU the first project will be a trial programme in which they will work on resident care, enabling student-led service and more such initiatives will take place. The trial project also focuses on supporting development programmes and intergenerational engagement.
Isalean Phillip, who serves as the Minister of State for Youth, Aging and Disabilities and Clilia Davis the Managing Director of iSTEAM signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Managing Director Davis mentioned that the initiative which her organization started in December 2024 was supported by various corporate sponsorship partners and through this current signing of MoU, the Initiative will become more official and structured.
The Minister of State also said that iSTEAM’s partnership with the administration will help improve the communities in the island. They are working with a people centric approach including leveraging their network of professionals, active participation by volunteers, and through corporate partners delivering sustainable programs.
Moreover, Minister Isalean Philip stated that iSTEAM looks for long-term community development programmes which help in the growth of the island. These programmes also encourage younger people to become active and responsible members of the society by taking part in service and community programmes.
