Commonwealth of Dominica continues to give COVID-19 updates despite eradicating the virus from its shores. Ministry of Health organised a press briefing to provide details of two coronavirus tests conducted over the weekend.
In a press briefing, National Epidemiologist Dr Shalauddin Ahmeh stated that recently two suspected patients were tested for the coronavirus; however, both of them has tested negative for the virus through rapid and PCR testing as per protocols.
“These individuals were Dominican returns; they had their negative PCR results prior to their arrivals and completed their online screening questionnaire that matched the criteria to travel to Dominica. They did not have any symptoms of coronavirus; currently, they are on mandatory 14 days home-quarantine.” added the health official.
Dr Shalauddin Ahmeh stated that as per the protocols all visitors coming to Dominica are required to follow several instructions prior to arrival which include;

- PCR testing should be done within three days from the arrival date
- It is mandatory to upload a valid PCR result in order to receive a health-approval notification
- Keep a copy of the PCR result and approval result before boarding
- Submit all documents to the port health officer after arrival
Reasons for disapproval of any visitor
- No PCR test is done
- Outdated PCR results,
- PCR result not uploaded
- A positive PCR result
- Clinical or symptomatic cases

The questionnaire includes several sections starting from demographic information flight info, behavioural and PCR questions and candidates or applicants must fill up all mandatory fills. As visitors can be disapproved on the failure of fulfilling the required health protocol guidelines of Dominica.
