Donya L. Francis, Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis to the Republic of China (Taiwan) visited Relicx Tsempet Shiolban, Acting Trade Commissioner of the Nigeria Trade Office in Taipei. The courtesy visit took place at the Nigeria Trade Office in Banqiao, New Taipei City on Tuesday July 28, 2026.
In the official meeting both the representatives held discussion on several topics and explored new areas of partnership in areas of mutual interest, including education, trade, people-to-people engagement, cultural exchange and law enforcement.
Moreover, the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis to Taiwan stated that the solemn engagement between both officials is a positive step towards strengthening the ties between both countries. According to reports, the main focus area of the engagement was to facilitate exchange of ideas on the promotion of Africa-Caribbean cooperation.
During the meeting both officials discussed new measures to strengthen the ties between the twin island and Nigerien communities within Taiwan. The result of the meeting led to hosting potential collaborative activities. Further it was believed that cultural events and community engagement were some practical measures which have encouraged greater interaction and nourished relationships between both communities.
The Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis to Taiwan mentioned that the meeting reflects both the country’s commitment of expanding bilateral cooperation, mutual understanding, stronger diplomatic, sustainable development and cultural ties between Africa and the Caribbean.
The Embassy said, “The Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis look forward to continued collaboration with the Nigeria Trade office in Taipei and to future initiatives that will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two nations”.
Notably, in the courtesy visit Ambassador Francis was accompanied by the Embassy’s intern Ezrah Brandy and a senior International Relations student at Tamkang University. The Embassy also shared the glimpse of the engagement online on their official social media page.
