Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett said that most of the major airlines are increasing service to Jamaica as the demand is rising.
He said that these airlines include American Airlines, Air Canada, Delta, jetBlue, United, Southwest, WestJet, and Copa.
He informed that in the United Kingdom, British Airways started twice weekly service to Montego Bay from London Gatwick, which is an addition to the regular London Gatwick-Kingston service.
The Minister also noted that last month, Virgin Atlantic returned to Jamaica with service from Heathrow to Montego Bay twice weekly, and it would move to three days per week this winter.
The Minister said this while addressing the Jamaica Product Exchange 2020 virtual media briefing held on November 9.
He said that Expedia reported that searches for Montego Bay, Jamaica, rose by 15 per cent in July, and Jamaica was among the most-searched-for destinations in the Caribbean.
He noted that the Government is very optimistic that these trends would continue through the winter months.
