Diani Jimesha Prince-Drew, through “The Joy Project”, handed over the “Joy Learning Centre” to the pediatric ward of JNF General Hospital. The center has been renovated and revitalized for the pediatric patients at the primary healthcare facility of St Kitts.
The First Lady started the renovation and revitalization project for the a few months ago and took the project. First Lady Drew shared that they were able to transform the place in only a few weeks of work.
Jimesha was proud of the pace of the project and hopes that the patients in the pediatric ward use the space. The transformation of the pediatric ward of JNF General Hospital was done with support from many partners.
The improved learning center is fitted with a number of modern facilities including a brand-new TV. The television set was donated to the children’s center by Leoan Mathew of Matthew Business Solutions for donating the new TV.
The Joy Learning Centre has been fitted with an air conditioning unit, blinds, new flooring, and books. All the items on this list have been either provided by the Joy Project or donated by partners and people of goodwill.
The bookshelf at the centre features all kinds of books, picture books, story books, educational books, novels and more. The collection aims to cater to children of all ages and make their stay comfortable in the pediatric ward.
The children also got some educational toys, stationery, paint sets to play with and unleash their creativity Kittitian Artist, Vaughn Anslyn delivered the mural for the center and made the space more inviting.
The First Lady of St Kitts and Nevis has extended her gratitude to the artist for dedicating her time to the mural. Ernest Amory of Amory Enterprises had sponsored the mural for the children’s center.
Jimesha Prince Drew has shared that the renovation project has been supported by many partners. She thanked the leadership of JNF General Hospital and the staff of the Pediatric Wing for supporting the renovation effort.
The First Lady noted that she was thankful for all the support that the hospital staff gave in clearing and setting up the new space.
