PM Drew Welcomes Taiwan’s FM Lin Chia-Lung, Plans to Invite Kuai Kuai Culture to SKN.

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew welcomed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan), Lin Chia-Lung and his delegation to St Kitts and Nevis on Thursday, October 31, 2024.

PM Terrance Drew invited the Taiwanese Foreign Minister and Delegation to his office where both the nations held fruitful discussions on several matters of important discussions.

The Prime Minister shared glimpses from the welcome and the discussions and emphasised on the long-standing partnership of St Kitts and Nevis with Taiwan.

Sharing the highlights of the meeting through his official social media, PM Drew noted that since establishing diplomatic ties in 1983, the partnership with Taiwan has brought significant benefits to both nations.

From educational scholarships and healthcare advancements to infrastructure projects and support in technology and agriculture, the relationship of the nations is built on shared values and mutual progress.

Prime Minister Drew also extended heartfelt gratitude to Taiwan for being a steadfast partner to St Kitts and Nevis as they work towards transforming the nation into a Sustainable Island State.

In addition to the discussions held with the Prime Minister, Minister Lin Chia-Lung also held meeting with Governor General Dame Marcella Liburd to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations.

Taiwan’s Foreign Minister also thanked St Kitts and Nevis for their continued support to the Republic of China, Taiwan highlighting that it has been over 41 years of diplomatic ties between the nations.

The FM Lung also shared a photo of a snack on top of a machine and noted that they will also invite the culture of Kuai Kuai to St Kitts and Nevis in the hope that it will bring good luck and the machines will operate smoothly.

Additionally, the Taiwanese Foreign Minister also joined Samal Duggins, the Minister of Agriculture in the launch of a hatchery.

Notably, Minister Lin Chia-Lung shared that he is on his tour to Caribbean islands where he has previously covered Saint Lucia, Belize, St Vincent and the Grenadines and is now in St Kitts and Nevis.
