American Billionaire and Former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, recently graced the shores of Nevis on his luxurious $200 million yacht, named Whisper. He is the 2nd Billionaire who visited the Island following Charles Simonyi in the past two weeks.
Eric Schmidt is an American Businessman and is a retired civil engineer by profession. He served as the CEO of Google from 2001 to 2011 and as the executive chairman of the company from 2011 to 2015.
In 2017, Schmidt left Google and founded his philanthropic venture called Schmidt Futures. As per data estimates, his annual net worth was around US$25.1 billion.
His private yacht spans an impressive 94 meters with an annual running cost of approximately $20 million. The yacht’s total costs reach around $1.6 million per week. The arrival of Billionaire, another week in Nevis marks a significant milestone for the nation’s tourism sector.
Schmidt is currently exploring the shores of Nevis, the island full of vividly green, blue skies, clean air and long empty beaches.
So far, he has explored numerous beauty hotspots located in different corners of the world. Therefore, the billionaire and the tech tycoon’s sailing adventures have always been a matter of huge discussion.
Last year, Schmidt bought the Alfa Nero, an authorised superyacht with a heliport, for $68 million.
The deal faced legal troubles after a lawsuit from the Russian owner’s daughter, which eventually led him to withdraw from his decision to purchase.
Previously, Another Billionaire, Charles Simonyi of Budapest, explored the Island of Nevis last week. He travelled to the island on his $250 million yacht ‘NORN’ and commended the nation for his wide offerings to its visitors. He spends around a total of $15 million annually on the maintenance of his yacht.
Upon his visit, Simonyi leisurely explored the captivating beauty of Nevis and enjoyed several lavish experiences, he took at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort.
