Nevis: The reigning Nevis Culturama Queen queen Nykeisha Henry is all set to represent her island, Nevis at the prestigious Miss SXM Carnival Caribbean Queen Pageant in St Marten on April 23, 2024.
She will be among 12 other queens from different regions, representing their nations and vying for the renowned title of Miss SXM Carnival Caribbean Queen 2024.
The exciting Miss SXM Carnival Caribbean Queen Pageant is hosted by the St Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF). This beauty pageant will be held at the Village Carnival, Jocelyn Arndell Festival Village, St Marten.
This is the largest carnival of St Marten, which transcends boundaries, beauty, excellence, empowering women and fostering connections and the Companionship.
Nykeisha Henry- The reigning Nevis Culturama Queen, is a crowned winner of the prestigious Miss Culture Queen Nevis, held in August 2023. She bagged the title by securing a total of 715 points from the judges in the Kaiso Soca Monarch of the prestigious Nevis Cultrama 49.
Besides this, She is also a title holder of Miss Four Seasons Resorts. She has also secured the crown of the Best Ambassadorial Speech & Wear and Best Onstage Interview in the process. She also picked up the Miss Congeniality Award.
Born in Kenya, Nykeisha Henry is a resident of Cherry Garden, Nevis. The Young Teen’s life mantra is Protection, Preservation and Cleanliness of the Environment. Since the early phase of her life, her deep enthusiasm and zeal towards the environment run deep in her spirit.
She has participated in annual coastal clean-ups alongside her grandmother and In 2019, she single-handedly established an international petition on the importance of banning the use of single-use plastic bags.
Some Highlights of her work from the year 2023 were, In September 2023, she has also contributed her significant efforts and teamed up with the Conservation Society Coastal Cleanup. She played a major role in collecting garbage by the Samuel Hunkins Drive/Bayfront to help in the Environmental sensitivity and keep the Nevis Water clean and trash-free.
Further, In October 2023, she was also the featured speaker at the Ivor Walters Primary School Special Assembly to mark the opening of activities for the school’s Anti-Bullying Week. She also donated wristbands to all the students from the Cecele Brown Integrated School.
While introducing her, the St Marten Carnival encouraged the communities to join them in cheering up for the Nevis Ultimate queen.
