The Republic of China (Taiwan) has come forward to sponsor the staging of the 25th Anniversary of the St. Kitts Music Festival. The Music festival, which is one of the most prominent festivals among the summer events observed in St Kitts. On Wednesday, May 3rd, the Minister of Tourism in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Marsha Henderson accepted US$20,000 from the Republic of China (Taiwan) for the music festival.

Notably the Music Festival, which takes place 22-24 June 2023. The festival will feature a lineup of world-renowned artists and musicians. The festival will attract a number of tourists to the shores of St Kitts and Nevis. The Minister of Tourism, Marsha Henderson, has been making diligent efforts to promote the tourism sector of St Kitts and Nevis

Ministry of Tourism hosted a brief ceremony in Port Zante, during which Minister Henderson accepted the cheque of contributions from the Republic of China (Taiwan). The handover ceremony for the sponsor cheque was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to St Kitts and Nevis, Michael Lin; Other attendants included the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Savanna Wharton and the Chairman of the St Kitts Music Festival’s Executive Committee, Allister Williams.

Minister Marsha Henderson expressed gratitude to the representative of Taiwan for the contribution. She asserted during the ceremony that the assistance would help in hosting one of the most remarkable musical events in the Caribbean. Further, the minister also thanked the people of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and their government for contributing to developing the tourism industry and nation-building.

Minister of Tourism in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Marsha Henderson, assserted that the contribution serves as the proof of the deep and lasting friendship between the two countries as St Kitts and Nevis celebrates the 25th anniversary of the St Kitts Music Festival and 40 years of diplomatic ties with Taiwan. Minister Henderson also noted the Festival’s significant economic impact in June, a typically slow period for tourism.
