St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew had a cordial meeting with Ms Celina Neihoff, the esteemed International Affairs Coordinator at the Chamber of Crafts Flensburg, Germany and the CEO of TVEC Council, Dr Kerteny Thompson.
The meeting was held between Glenroy Blanchette, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office and Dr Kertney Thompson, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Council.
Ms Niehoff’s visit to St Kitts and Nevis included a noteworthy seminar at the Advanced Vocational Education Centre and the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College. The seminar announced vocational training and other education options in Germany. The announcement was made by the ministry that an exchange program will be held in November 2024.
The exchange program will allow vocational trainers from Germany to visit St Kitts and Nevis. This will foster relationship between two regions and strengthen socio-cultural relationships.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew stated that the initiative taken by the two countries will foster international relations and develop vocational education. This partnership with Germany is a significant step forward towards the development of the state. This would result in fostering socio-cultural relationships between the two nations.
In addition, he added, this would also inculcate new opportunities for the students and educators, enhancing educational landscape and building strong global connections that will be fruitful to both the nations.

Rodison Jeffers from Nevis and Dillon Simmonds from St Kitts have been given scholarships by the government of Germany. This is a pivotal step taken by Germany’s government to promote educational advancement between the two nations.
These scholars have started their educational journey with learning of the German languages. This will increase their knowledge in building understanding for the cultural and linguistics pursuits of the nation.
The Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Education of St Kitts and Nevis and the Chamber of Crafts Flensburg.
Ms. Niehoff expressed her gratitude and immense pleasure to partner with St Kitts and Nevis for the advancement of vocational education. She is delighted by the response from the students studying at the institutions and anticipates collaboration in the future.
This initiative was also carried out by Mrs. Ama Martin who is serving as Special Envoy for St Kitts and Nevis to Germany.
