The Citizenship by Investment Programme unit St Kitts and Nevis confirmed that the “Globe Detective Agency” has been blacklisted for carrying out due diligence for the CBI programme of the country.
Globe Detective is one of the five, due diligence agencies used by St Kitts and Nevis to carry out background checks on CBI applicants seeking second citizenship from these countries. Reports suggested that because of the lack of efficiency and reliability, Globe Detective Agency failed to qualify to be a “third party due diligence agency for St Lucia”.
The CBI Unit in St Kitts and Nevis revealed that due to a lack of efficient due diligence reports, Globe Detective Agency – which is based in India has been blacklisted. CIU also confirmed that citizenships vetted by Globe Detective Agency would be thoroughly reviewed to ensure the safety and security of the economic citizenship programmes.
Apart from this, Globe Detective Agency is not new to controversies. As per a recent report published by Daily Research Editor (Israel based news outlet), Globe Detectives claims to be an India based due diligence firm which had compromised the due diligence; however, as per reports, it does not have any physical presence in India.
According to Daily Research Editor, the Globe Detective Agency is run by only three individuals, all hailing from the same family (Kumar). The company’s about page claims to be entirely Indian; nevertheless, it is unclear how they provide due diligence services to these Caribbean countries or on what grounds they evaluate applications worldwide.
The CBI unit of St Kitts and Nevis confirmed that Globe Detectives have been fired for their incompetent background checks and for posing a threat to the safety and security of these countries.
It was feared that lack of rigorous due diligence might lead to a threat to St Kitts and Nevis as it might give an opportunity to criminals and fraudsters to make arrangements of safe haven in other countries with the help of Globe Detective Agency.
