The prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team of the Special Olympians of St Kitts and Nevis, who represented the twin-island federation at the Special Olympics that were held in Berlin in 2023. The Olympians returned to the federation after a remarkable performance that they delivered on behalf of the federation.
The team returned to the federation after a successful performance and several medals in various categories and sports. The Prime Minister expressed his pride and excitement on the achievement of the athletes. He expressed that the Olympian team has made the nation proud with their performance and brought laurels to the country.
In honor of their contribution to developing the country’s sports sector, The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities organized an event to welcome the Olympians back into the federation after their successful stint in the Berlin Special Olympics. The Prime Minister, Dr Terrance Drew, shared his excitement about participating in the young athletes’ welcome-back ceremony.
Dr Terrance Drew further urged the country’s people to help them give the athletes a Heroes Welcome. Each year they go out and make us proud. Dr Drew stated that We are proud of you. Job well done! You truly delivered. The ministry of youth affairs hosted the event in honour of the Olympians at the end of their stint in Berlin. The event was hosted at Robert L Bradshaw International Airport on June 28, 2023.
On Wednesday, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, Minister of Gender Affairs, Ageing and Disability, Isalean Phillip and other significant members of the government of St Kitts and Nevis were present at the welcome ceremony at the arrival of the special Olympians.
The people of St Kitts and Nevis also appreciated the special Olympians of St Kitts and Nevis and extended their pride and congratulations to the team for their performance.
