Glenny Philip of St Kitts and British Woman Lucy Downes have become engaged after meeting on TikTok, defending baseless allegations and proving that their love is genuine and is beyond the “green card.”
Lucy Downes, a British Woman, 29 years old, had been a nine year relationship with two children – a nine year old son and a five year old son. She had just come out of the relationship and had started scrolling through TikTok for some fun.
During the live streams of Lucy, Glenny used to interact with her casually which turned into a deep connection pretty quickly. The TikTok interactions soon turned into phone calls for months and exchanging of texts through WhatsApp back in 2022.
Despite of their mutual feelings, they only had online interaction for a year because of certain difficulties and the distance. Lucy was living with her ex and Glenny did not have a permanent home.

But after a year, in March 2023, Glenny flew to UK to meet Lucy and her feelings were on cloud nine when she finally saw him at the airport.
“When Glenny came out- it’s so hard to describe how I felt,” said the British woman while expressing how real their relationship felt from the very first day.
Glenny stayed with Lucy for almost half a year and also spent time with her children and bonded with them before they could come to St Kitts. During his stay, Glenny surprised Lucy with a romantic proposal on their dinner date.
He proposed to Lucy on one knee asking her to marry her while his friends surrounded the couple carrying love hearts and roses. And Lucy said “YES.”

The couple faced 10 months apart after the proposal waiting for the fiancé visa but have now overcome all the obstacles as they plan to get married in November. After, their marriage the couple will also apply for Glenny’s spouse visa.
Since the modern couple got engaged, they have been trolled by the netizens that Glenny has pursued Lucy “just for the green card” but Lucy defended their relationship and labelled their love story as genuine and honest.
The family and friends of Lucy were also hesitant initially but meeting Glenny changed their opinion and proved himself to be the perfect man for Lucy.
Now as the couple look forward for their wedding in November overcoming all the obstacles, their story serves as a great example of commitment and genuine love.
