St Kitts and Nevis welcomes first branded InterCaribbean Airways aircraft

St Kitts and Nevis welcomed the Federation’s branded InterCaribbean Airways aircraft JY735 by hosting the official unveiling ceremony on Monday, March 10th, 2025. It  took place at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and marked a new achievement in the nation’s growing influence in air travel.

The ceremony showcased the airline’s commitment to boosting tourism and economic growth in St Kitts and Nevis. Furthermore, the branded aircraft will act as the moving ambassador for the twin island nation.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, Minister of tourism Marsha Henderson, Chief Executive Officer of InterCaribbean Airways Trevor Sadler, and Minister of Public Safety and Utilities, Telecommunications Commission, Civil Aviation Authority, Turks and Caicos Islands Otis C. Morris.

Other esteemed Cabinet Members, representatives from InterCaribbean Airways, tourism officials, members of the media, and tourism partners.

PM Dr Terrance Drew restates government’s commitment for the tourism sector

Prime Minister Drew restated the government’s commitment in advancing the island’s tourism infrastructure and said that the initiatives such as these branded aircraft are part of a broader strategy to ensure that the Federation remains accessible, desirable, and a thriving nation.

Minister Henderson highlights significance of the new branded aircraft

Tourism Minister Marsha Henderson highlighted the significance of the new branded aircraft in advancing the global tourism industry. 

She said, “Branding is more than just a logo on a plane.” According to Minister Henderson, branding is a visual promise, a declaration of identity, and a strategic tool that elevates St Kitts and Nevis in the international tourism sector.

Minister Henderson further added that every time the aircraft departs from or arrive at a destination, it will serve as a billboard by capturing attention and sparking curiosity and will restate St Kitts and Nevis’ position as a world-class destination.

Collaboration between St Kitts & Nevis and InterCaribbean Airways

It is to be noted that the collaboration between St Kitts & Nevis and the InterCaribbean Airways started on March 12th, 2023, with the flight’s inaugural call to the Federation. This partnership marked the beginning of a strong regional air connection.

Moreover, the branded aircraft shows the dynamic evolution in the relationship between St Kitts & Nevis and InterCaribbean Airways. It shows the transformation from business dealings to a shared vision of safe travel and connectivity in the Caribbean region.
