St Kitts and Nevis have witnessed a shocking incident of a double homicide on Rectory Road, Dorset Village. The incident claimed the lives of two local residents. The incident happened on Monday, June 5, 2023. The police force has started the preliminary investigation into the incident. According to the initial reports, both homicides occurred on the Dorset Village Rectory Road between 11 AM and 11:30 AM.
The police have recognized the victims as twenty-year-old Vishawn Matthew and forty-three-year-old Kay Johnson-Bellile. According to the preliminary investigation carried out by the police, the victims were sitting on the sides of the road when they were shot to death by unknown assailants. The culprits were on a vehicle and fled the area after implementing their criminal intent.
The two victims, Kay Johnson-Bellile and Vishawn Matthew were Wades Garden and Taylor’s Village residents, respectively. The police officials called the District Medical Officer into the crime scene to investigate the victims’ bodies. Following this, he declared both the victims dead by shooting, on the spot. The motivation behind the double homicide remains unknown. Meanwhile, police officials are investigating the scene of crime.
The update shared through various information channels stated that the Crime Scene Unit of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force has processed the spot in Dorset Village. They have also collected all the items of evidential value to double homicide. The bodies of both the victims were found lying a distance along the same road.
