Shirvon Greene, a resident of Nevis and a former member of the St Kitts and Nevis National Track Team, has achieved a significant milestone as he has been named as the Atlantic Region Coach of the Year for both men and women.
This is the second consecutive year the coach earned the U.S. Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association Atlantic Region Indoor Track & Field Award.
These awards are presented to acknowledge the outstanding performances and accomplishments of the coaches and every athlete who is constantly making efforts to improve their skills and enhance their techniques and abilities.
Along with Greene, his student and athlete Attoya Harvey and his assistant Coach, Charez Weste were also among the top winners of the awards. Harvey was named Atlantic Region Track Athlete of the Year and Weste was named the Assistant Coach of the Year.
Such recognitions also shed light on their unwavering commitment and dedication which they have towards their respective field. It is a testament to their commitment to promoting sports excellence and a culture of athleticism.
Moreover, Shirvon Greene has also been the seven-time winner of the Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year for the indoor season. He is currently the Head Coach of the Monroe Mustangs Track and Field Team.
The team secured first position in seven events which include, 60m, 800m, 1000m, Mile, 3K, 4*4 and DMR. Such achievements emphasised Shirvon Greene’s determination and focus as a coach in leading his team towards excellence.
Shirvon Greene as a coach, has always been passionate, focused, optimistic and goal-oriented. He is the one who understands his student’s strengths and weaknesses and later tries his best to polish them for their betterment.
Greene’s leadership qualities have always been praised by citizens, therefore they took to their social media accounts and extended congratulations to him on earning the award.
