Ras Kelly was crowned as the new king of the SKELEC Power Soca Monarch in St Kitts Carnival Sugar Mas 52 with his song Showcase at Warner Park Cricket Stadium.
The SKELEC Power Soca Monarch featured 12 artists sharing one stage fighting for the crown, and Ras Kelly won the first by being crowned the newest Soca king.

- 1st Runner Up Mr Hype with his song Pot Spoon amassing 521 points.
- 2nd Runner Up – T-Bone, with his song Pirates, gained 512 points.

Ras Kelly
Ras Kelly is a member of a Small Axe Band. This was not the first time for him to participate in the Soca Monarch in St Kitts Carnival Sugar Mas. Ras Kelly once attended in 2011 but didn’t win.
Ras Kelly did not give up his journey of claiming the crown because this year, 2023, he entered again and submitted his hit “Show Case”, which brought carnival vibes, earning him not just the crown but also a fantastic prize – $20,000 and one year of free electricity from SKELEC.

The impressive roster of 26 gifted artists submitted their music at the start of the SKELEC Power Soca Monarch, and they were eliminated when only ten artists were able to participate in the finals. The two winners from last year’s Soca Monarch competition, Stadics (Power) and Mr Bagnall (Groovy), automatically qualified for the Finals.
