The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, was recently featured in the June edition of the monthly roundtable conference on June 13, 2023. The Roundtable is a part of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party Administration’s mandate for transparency. During the Prime Minister’s interaction with the media members, he talked about the several initiatives and developments the government has taken up for the benefit of the people and the Caribbean.

During his interaction with the media members, PM Drew touched on several topics of importance, including the US-Caribbean Leaders meeting. Dr Drew attended this meeting with the Caribbean members and the United States Vice President, Kamala Harris. The event was held in the Bahamas on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Dr Terrance Drew informed the media about the significance of the meeting. He talked about the PACC 2030 and the Caribbean and US partnership. He took the opportunity to extend his sincere gratitude to VP Harris for partnering with the leaders of the Caribbean to meet their “Shared goals” of climate action and climate resiliency.

He also shared some updates about the PACC 2030 summit. The summit was hosted on the sidelines of the Vice President’s visit to the Bahamas. The conference brought together several experts, local stakeholders, assistants and more to discuss the best way of introducing climate resilience and bringing cleaner energy within the Caribbean.

The prime minister shared that the summit helped the stakeholders identify the technical gaps and funding opportunities to identify areas bridging opportunities to bring cleaner renewable energy transition through greater climate resiliency within the Caribbean.

He expanded upon the proceedings of the meeting. Dr Terrance Drew was one of the guest speakers at the event, where the Caribbean leaders discussed at great lengths matters about renewable energy, climate resilience and clean energy initiatives within the country.
