St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew proudly exhibited the artwork of young artists from across the Federation at his office and expressed deep admiration for their creativity.
The Prime Minister shared the glimpses of the art pieces through his official social media account and noted that “The Prime Minister’s Office is now adorned with the artwork of young people from the Federation, the youngest being only 10 years old.”
These art pieces have been acquired from the Department of Youth Empowerment’s Youth Art Exhibition that was held throughout the month of November in 2023 at the Ministry’s Secretariat.
Notably, the members of the public were allowed to visit the department inside the Cable Building to view the exhibition at zero entry fee.
Significantly, the Youth Art Exhibition featured a variety of artwork by young people including some high school students. The artworks consisted portrays of historical sites, green energy, resource conservation, and areas of natural beauty.
While sharing the portraits, PM Terrance Drew noted that the artwork reflects the vision of a sustainable island state and highlights the natural beauty, serving as a reminder of the potential and creativity within the youth of the nation.
Where one of the many paintings displayed cruise ships at Port Zante, showcasing the St Kitts and Nevis’ major tourism attraction, the other showed beaches, and mountains that enhance the beauty of the nation.
In addition to these portraits, the conference room in the Government’s Headquarters also features a stunning mural by Sasha The Artist Studio.
Sasha also made a visit to the Youth Art Exhibition back in November 2023, and shared glimpses of her visit and the children’s art works expressing that she was absolutely stunned. The level of imagination, creativity, execution exhibited by the teen Picassos of the Federation is far beyond their age.
The exhibition of these paintings at the Prime Minister’s Office reflects the government’s initiative towards becoming the world’s first sustainable island nation as it creates awareness among children about the carbon footprints and importance of the earth’s ecosystem.
