The incident in question took place at the Main Road in Gingerland Nevis. Eyewitnesses reported that the police officer drove the vehicle that struck Ella early yesterday morning (Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 7:00 AM). The police officer fled the scene after his vehicle hit the elderly victim.
Even though the hit led to a potentially fatal accident, the officer did not stop to render aid or call for medical assistance. The community’s residents have lamented that these actions on the part of the police officer are both unlawful and a breach of the duty to protect and serve.
