The premier of Nevis and Leader of the Nevis based Concerned Citizens Movement, Mark Brantley has taken to his social media to share his happiness on attending the certificate presentation ceremony for the 24 children and adult students who successfully completed the official Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language Computerized Adaptive Test. The test was taken after a series of classes for the same.
The classes were held by the Nevis Island Administration in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The partnership between the two regions has remained one of the most remarkable and strong international relationships among the countries.
Taking to his social media account, Premier Mark Brantley noted that, he Such joy and pride on Thursday, August 31, 2023 as I attended a certificate presentation ceremony for some 24 children and adult students who successfully completed the official Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language Computerized Adaptive Test. Congratulations to them all.
This is the second cohort of students and the very first time in the region that this test is being taken. Nevis is showing the way and we are proud to be pioneers. I was especially impressed that one of the adult students is from our sister St Kitts and came over to be a part of the training.
Premier Mark Brantley extended his heartfelt gratitude to Ambassador Michael Lin and to the government and people of Taiwan and to the popular teacher Ms Chi Chen who has been embedded in Nevis since 2020 and continues to do excellent work.
Further, Premier Mark Brantley also extended his thanks also to Minister Troy Liburd and his team in the Ministry of Education who saw and executed on this vision to introduce Mandarin into¹lqour schools.
