A local businessman has called on Sandy Pointers to elect the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) NextGen SKN candidate, Ambassador Kenny Douglas in the next general elections.

Declaring his support for Kenny Douglas, Browne called on Sandy Pointers to withdraw their support for outgoing Parliamentary Representative and Deputy Prime Minister Hon Shawn Richards.

He said it is time for the good people of Sandy Point to elect Ambassador Kenny Douglas for the betterment of Sandy Point in particular and St Kitts and Nevis in general.

“It is no secret who I am supporting this election. Kenny Douglas is visionary, has integrity and genuinely cares about all the people of Sandy Point. I firmly believe he will work in the interest of all the people once elected to office,” Browne posted on his FaceBook page on Thursday.

Browne has described Hon Shawn Richards, the incumbent and Political Leader of the Peoples Action Movement (PAM) as lazy, vindictive and abandoning his hometown of Sandy Point.

“He passed on the opportunity to make all Sandy Pointers proud to say the ‘Prime Minister is one of us’, from the illustrious town that once served as the capital city. He did not deliver on many of his promises. He has failed to deliver on the new Basseterre High School. The new police and fire stations are not yet a reality. He and his campaign manager have ruined carnival,” said Browne, who is further of the view that Deputy Shawn Richards “has allowed (Prime Minister) Timothy to tie his hands tighter, even though his party had the largest number of seats in parliament.”
