Jermaine “Teddy ” Johnson, the Jamaican international footballer, was among three people who were shot on Law Street and Foster Lane in Kingston Central a while ago.
Another man who is known only as “Fidel” and a woman were shot in the incident as well.
Reports are that after the elections closed this afternoon, three of them were sitting in a group when men in a car came and opened fire on three of them.
They were then rushed to the hospital where they were admitted in serious conditions, but they are stable.
Police on the scene said that the shooting seems to be linked to an ongoing gang feud in the locality.
It is said that Johnson had received two shots to his abdomen and back.
The former Reggae Boy, 40-years-old is a member of Tivoli Gardens football club after he returned to the local football following stints in England where he played for Oldham Athletic, Bolton Wanders, Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City.
He has played 73 times for Jamaica between 2001 and 2014 while scoring 12 goals.
