Joseph N France Hospital has recently unveiled a mural in honor of the hospital getting a baby friendly accreditation. The hospital was given this accreditation in the year 2023 and the maternity ward at the JNF General Hospital has maintained that position for two years.
The authorities have shared that they continue to work on making sure that the accreditation remains with them. The maternity ward of The JNF General Hospital has also received applause from international organisations and a UK Based midwife.
The healthcare officials at the JNF General Hospital, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, have been hosting events like the breastfeeding week. They also host other prenatal and postnatal training which help make sure that the organization can retain their position as a Baby Friendly health facility.
The mural was created by Darren Moses, a high school teacher and a professional artist and he started creating the mural on August 8. The mural was completed on the next day, August 9 after which the mural was unveiled for the people of the island.
The healthcare organisation is proud of the fact that they have a high reputation in the region due to their steps in this direction. The organisation has also confirmed that they will continue to improve their offerings for the people of the country.
The Director of Health Institutions within the Ministry of Health, Dr Jenson Morton was present at the unveiling of the mural. He highlighted that the members of the country can take advantage of the health facilities considered top of the line by PAHO.
They unveiling ceremony was also attended by some doctors and nursing staff of the JNF General Hospital. They also expressed their delight in the achievement of the hospital in terms of it being considered a state of the art facility for new mothers and babies.
The Director of Health Institutions within the Ministry of Health, Dr Jenson Morton has shared that they are not waiting for the construction of the new hospital to improve their healthcare facilities and get different accreditations.
