Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew will be embarking on a state visit to Ghana later in the week. The visit is part of the nation’s efforts to improve the connection between the Caribbean and the African Continent.
St Kitts and Nevis has been one of the first nations within the region to take the lead on strengthening the relationship between the two regions. During the visit to Ghana, Prime Minister Dr Drew is expected to meet with the President of Ghana.
During this meeting, PM Drew will also be engaging in conversations and diplomatic interactions with the high level officials of the government of Ghana. The administration has been dedicated to making sure that the two nations can work together on both of their development.
The St Kitts and Nevis administration has confirmed that the meeting is aimed towards improving the diplomatic ties with the country.
In 2025, Dr Drew and his administration took several steps to improve connectivity between Africa and the Caribbean. The trip to Ghana will take the mandate even further and bring the two regions with common historic roots closer.
The Prime Minister will also explore the deepening of the cultural and economic ties with Ghana. He is expected to be accompanied by a delegation of officers, permanent secretaries and ministers.
The state visit is expected to serve as an opportunity for the leaders from both the countries to engage in meaningful talks. The Prime Minister and his administration have been working hard to make sure that the island’s voice is heard across the world.
