St Kitts welcomed more than 15,000 passengers to its shore during the period between Sunday and Tuesday. The week started with two cruise ships arriving at Port Zante carrying over 5,000 passengers. The productiveness of the cruise week beginning on Sunday was carried forward with the arrival of another two cruise ships on Monday.
On Monday, the island welcomed Norwegian Star and the Valiant Lady carrying over 4,900 passengers on board.. The First ship, Norwegian Star was carrying 2,404 passengers on board. The Valiant lady sailed in with 2,534 passengers.
On Tuesday, the island welcomed four cruise ships carrying over 5,100 passengers to the island. The AIDAblu brought in some 2,269 passengers, the second ship, Zuiderdam, carried a total of 2,062 passengers onboard. The fourth cruise ship was the Wind Spirit which brought in a total of 145 cruise passengers.
In total, the number of passengers for the first half of the week was recorded at just over 15,000 with several people coming inland to give significant business to the people of the country. The passengers have shared that the businesses which are operating in the island reported a very productive semi week with many passengers buying souvenirs, experiencing the food of the island and making guiding tours across the island.
The officials have shared that the people engaged in several activities around the island and gave the people visiting the island an opportunity to explore the offerings of the island.
The officials have shared that the arrival of nine cruise ships over the course of three days spells a positive trend for the tourism sector of the island. The island has seen a large influx of tourists aboard cruise ships in the last few weeks as more and more cruises are choosing to add St Kitts and Nevis to their itineraries.
