Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, attended an orientation meeting on Thursday, September 2022, conducted by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
The Prime Minister Terrance Drew, along with a delegation of Ministers and officials, is visiting Bridgetown, Barbados, to attend the inaugural Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2022, which is taking place from September 1-3, attended today (September 1)
In the capacity of St. Kitts and Nevis’ new Minister of Health, the orientation meeting will help to prepare Prime Minister Dr Drew ahead of the 30th Pan American Sanitary Conference of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
The PAHO is the 74th Session of the Regional Committee of WHO (World Health Organization) for The Americas, scheduled to take place from the 26th-30th September 2022, in Washington D.C., USA.
The Pan American Sanitary Conference is the supreme governing authority of the Organization and meets once every five years to determine the policies of the organisation.
Dr Amalia Del Riego, PAHO/WHO’s representative for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, facilitated the two-hour orientation at the Hilton Barbados Resort.
Accompanying Prime Minister Dr Drew at the orientation meeting were Cabinet Secretary Dr Marcus Natta and Acting Permanent-Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office Ms Naeemah Hazelle.
Prime Minister Dr Drew is a medical doctor specialising in Internal Medicine.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and his delegation also attended the opening ceremony of the inaugural Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum 2022 this morning (Thursday, September 1) in Barbados.
During the opening ceremony, Kaiso and Carnival were some of the poetic but very familiar words spoken by Nigerian spoken word, performance poetry artist, and award-winning author Dike Chukwumerije.
A brief signing ceremony between the Africa Export-Import Bank and a number of high-level officials, including Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, was also incorporated into the opening ceremony for partnership agreements.
